This sensational 5 day on-road Ride explores the most majestic landscapes that the island of Mallorca has to offer, focusing on the more mountainous northern half of the island, covering all of the famous Corniche road route and is designed to cater for experienced cyclists. The Ride covers over 400km (250mls) of hilly terrain with several tough climbs. There will be some time for non cycling activities in the evenings and occasionally during the day, such as a cave visit.
Mallorca is as little as 135 minutes away from the UK by air and the cheap airlines have made this destination remarkably accessible especially in the Spring when the weather is warm and sunny and makes for perfect cycling.
This unique 5 day ride is introduced with an option of either an easy or more challenging afternoon across Mallorca to Valldemossa, the village in the mountains. Here we stay two nights. On day 2 we cycle through the wild interior through remote villages such as Puigpunyent and the artist village of Galilea to the beautiful Port Andratx and back along the first part of the famous Corniche road with dramatic views of the rugged coastline. Day 3 is the toughest day continuing along the famous coast and mountain road through the delightful village of Deia and the town of Soller nestled in a dramatic nothern valley. The day's ride ends at the coastal resort of Alcudia where we stay one night.
The 4th day includes an excursion to the spectacular Formentor peninsular and after returning via Alcudia we cycle to pretty coastal resort of Cale Millor where we stay in its luxurious 4* hotel for the last night. The final day's ride is an easy morning ride back towards the airport through pretty Mallorcan villages but with a flourishing finish on a hilltop and a celebratory lunch.
