Arrive in Lanzarote and transfer to our 5* hotel Princesa Yaiza in Playa Blanca After settling in and a tour of the hotel and its facilities, bike fitting and a short (12km) rough road cycle excursion to the famed beaches of Papagayo where you will have the opportunity of a sit in the sun and an optional swim before returning to the hotel to sample its facilities. The evening will include a half hour presentation on Lanzarote and the itinerary for the next 3 days
Day 2- The South (82km cycle)
Today's cycling commences and finishes at Playa Blanca and is a really challenging day, which includes a great variety of landscapes. With an early 8am start we will have a fast cycle North towards some fascinating salt flats -Salinas de Janibio - which make an unusual and colourful sight from a stunning viewpoint high above the sea.
We continue along the coast where old lava fields meet the sea. There are huge lava coves where the sea crashes in to the shore
Leaving Yaiza, we enter one of the world's largest lava fields providing a dramatic contrast to the lush surroundings at Yaiza. This lava field was created by the eruption of 1730-6 when more than 100 new craters came to the surface in what is known as Timanfaya extending lava fields over 200 Km2 forming the badlands malpais of the Having passed through the Park we will then ride the road from Tinago to Masdache across more lava fields with close up views of volcanic cones which are just 270 years oldWe then ride through La Geria, the wine growing region of Lanzarote, and on to the pretty The last steep climb of the Ride is to the mountain The finale is a grand decent back to Playa Blanca for another dose of the hotel’s facilities before dinner.
Day 3 - South to North and coast to coast to coast (78km)
We leave Playa Blanca at 9am by retracing our steps to Yaiza. Then we strike north on the edge of lava fields through a land of old volcanic cones to Tiagua and Tinago. We reach the North coast at La Santa, and visit the sports complex which is well used by Olympic athletes for from all over the world for training since the climate on the island is ideal for this all year round. Our next stop is the massive wild
Striking inland we head towards the wild and isolated centre of the island through a profusion of extinct volcanic cones and a surprising array of crops growing in this harsh, arid landscape. Then on to Momument el Campesino which marks the geographic centre of the island. We plan if time to visit the Cesar Manrique museum which will give an insight into this artist who made such an impression on the present appearance of Lanzarote and its culture. We finally descend into Costa Teguise to our hotel just 500m from the beach.
Day 4- The Wild North (86km and 1200m climb)

We then take in a short tour of the famous caves of Jameos de Agua, which comprise an underground lake featuring unique blind crabs!
We then make a dash back to the hotel for a refreshing swim and cleanup and a high tea before being transported the 20 minutes to the airport.
