The partners of CycleWild are all experienced and committed riders, who have enjoyed and led charity and holiday rides all over the globe. We know what cyclists want because we are all enthusiastic expedition and leisure cyclists. We have embarked upon a quest to identify and research some of the most spectacular rides on earth and offer them to those ambitious and adventurous riders who seek the ultimate ride experience. Each ride will be lead by the very people who have researched and designed them, and accompanied by local guides who can offer a unique insight into the each locations culture and heritagee

Jonathan Friend  

Jonathan Friend
Jonathan, 60, is a graduate of Manchester University and as a chartered accountant has spent much of his working life on the finance side of the transport and distribution industries, giving him the opportunity to travel extensively around the world.

He has developed his love of travel over 40 years through leading trekking and 4WD expeditions in Europe and Iceland predominantly throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's in addition to mass sponsored walk events for scout groups and schools.

Over the last 13 years Jonathan has participated in several charity cycling events and has planned innovative routes and itineraries for several throughout Europe, some of which are featured here.

Jonathan also has a love of classical music including opera and landscape photography which can be seen in evidence on this web site. He is married with two grown up daughters


Max  

Max Kramer
Max has been involved in tour management for more than 15 years. After taking part in several charity bike rides as a participant, Max turned his hand to managing these rides and therefore is sympathetic with the needs of cycle riders taking on these challenges.

Max has in depth experience with development of people, having been involved with a training and development company for more than 25 years, and thus is used to the organisation of groups.

His hobbies apart from cycling, which happens to be one of his favourites, also covers hill walking, skiing and golf, so you can gather , Max has a love for the great outdoors.

This has led to extensive travel experiences so participants can feel very safe with him in charge of an expedition.

Max continues to attend training in both travel and safety designed specifically for cycling activities.


Paul  

Paul Hughes

Paul, aged 55 is married with two grown up children and two teenage foster daughters.

Paul retired in 2005 after selling a major home improvement business to pursue his lifelong interest in cycling. A keen cyclist since the age of 14 and a former Chairman and Secretary of Oldham CTC as well as a former editor of the Northern Wheel cycling magazine, Paul has organised and led a number of private and fund raising tours over the years.

As well as enjoying a busy family life and avid supporter of Oldham Athletic Paul is an active member and past president of Todmorden Rotary Club .
