This exciting 3 centre cycling adventure comprises four rewarding days cycling over which you will see the whole island from the wild and mountainous North, the cultural Centre with stunning seascapes, and the volcanic South. In addition you will experience a couple of short volcano hikes, to ‘must see’ areas not accessible by bike.
You will have the opportunity to visit sites such as the beautiful volcanic caves of Jameos del Agua and Cueva de los Verdes, the Mirador (viewpoint) perched on top of the islands highest cliff, 2000ft above the sea, and a museum dedicated to the artist, Manrique who influenced the recent development of the Island.
The first day's ride will be circular and tour the North of the island, with views from 2000ft cliffs, Haria, the lush ‘valley of 1000 palms’, remote white beaches and volcanic caves, and an unusual cactus garden returning to Costa Teguise for a second night.
The following day we traverse the island to Yaiza, via Cesar Manrique´s Foundation Museum, the Monumento al Campesino and then onto the wine growing region of La Geria where we will have the opportunity for wine tasting at Bodega Rubicón. Yaiza is one of the island’s prettiest villages, where we will stay the night at the remote quality boutique ‘Finca’.
On the third day we will tour the National Park of Timanfaya with its multi-coloured lunar landscape of the 1781 -1824 eruptions; El Golfo, the weird green lagoon and the fascinating saltpans of Salinas de Janubio.
The final day’s ride is across a mountain pass with a great viewpoint overseeing the wild South of the island; a visit to the perfect and remote beaches of Papagayo, with a picnic on the beach, before completing our Ride at our 4* hotel in the lovely resort of Playa Blanca.
